Surgery

Spays and Neuters: Spays and neuters are recommended at four months of age and four pounds in weight. They are sent home the same day as the procedure and have pain mediation. Sutures are removed in 10-14 days.

Declaws: Declaws are front paws only and can be done at the same time as a spay or neuter. Recommended if needed to be done at 4 months of age or 4 pounds in weight. Declaws are required to be hospitalized overnight. The cats are sent home with pain medication and a special litter for you to use at home.

Nonroutine Surgery: Orthopedic surgery including cruciate ligament rupture (MRIT), luxating patella repair, and many other orthopedic surgeries are offered. Soft tissue surgery includes routine and advanced procedures such as bladder surgery, tumor removals, biopsies, foreign body removal, and surgery on all major organ systems.

Pre-surgery Instructions: No food after 10:00 p.m. the night before surgery. Water an be offered until the morning of surgery. All exotic animals (ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs) should be fed all night but remove the food first thing in the morning. Bring food along with your pet for post-operative feeding.
