National Pet Dental Health Month

February is National Pet Dental Health Month!
At Serenity, we are committed to providing the best Dental Care for your pet.

Here’s why-

Bad breath isn’t the only reason to think about dental care for your pet.  New studies have shown that the health of your pet’s mouth could have an impact on the total health of your pet.  The bacteria associated with dental disease can have an adverse affect on the heart, liver, and kidneys which may shorten the life of your pet.
Our dental program includes a professional cleaning using the same equipment and instruments used at your own dentist.

We also use digital dental radiology to better evaluate the teeth inside and out.  This diagnostic tool allows us to determine if a tooth can be saved by periodontal therapy or if extraction would be appropriate.  We believe in saving teeth, and only perform extractions as a very last resort.

We also practice the latest techniques in Periodontal therapy to stop the progression of dental disease and sometimes even reverse the effects that periodontal disease can cause.  This prevents early tooth loss.
If extraction becomes necessary, we provide the best in pain management to keep your pet as comfortable as possible before, during and after the procedure.
One of the biggest reasons that owners are reluctant to have their pet’s teeth cleaned is the fear of anesthesia.  We understand and provide the best care to minimize the risk as much as possible.   Preoperative bloodwork is performed to evaluate organ function.  Intravenous fluids are administered to regulate blood pressure and protect the kidneys.  We tailor our anesthetic protocols for individual patients based on their age, weight, breed and medical history.
Monitors are used to track blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, and temperature.  These parameters are watched closely and recorded every 5 minutes by an anesthesia assistant.

Anesthesia Monitor

Knowing what we do about the adverse affects of periodontal disease, the benefits of a professional dental cleaning and treatment far outweigh the risk of anesthesia.

We are offering special discounts for all dental procedures scheduled in February.
